For the first time since the 2019 marilyn monroe and 2021 audrey hepburn collaborations, legendary japanese fashion designer yohji yamamoto has unveiled another cinema icon collab.


The collection also includes portraits of fan bingbing by japanese painter suzume uchida, as well as a tote bag.


Fan bingbing has been focusing on () with her brand.


Fan bingbing brought her cosmetic brand fan beauty diary to malaysia, where she was photographed by japanese photographer takay, styled by leading stylist tsuyoshi noguchi, and modelled by fan herself.

However, it has been that since her first post for the account in may and july, aiming to crack the southeast asia market, she has quickly earned over 500,000 views but has only increased 10,000 views in the ensuing three months.


In comparison, fan beauty diary, the tiktok store's rarest celebrity, has less followers, with its gross merchandise value (gmv) approaching over 1.1 billion rmb (154.42 million) growing at home.


Pundits find that fan's celebrity outside of china is currently not strong enough to make a difference abroad.


People outside china may be aware of her films and fashion week appearances but not necessarily in 2023. with more event appearances around the world, several films in the pipeline, and yohji yamamoto's latest collaboration with yohji yamamoto, it is likely that fan is not strong enough for short-form video platforms.


However, how effective it is for her beauty business remains to be seen.
